DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Oklahoma... Cimarron River near Waynoka affecting Major, Woodward and Woods Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cimarron River near Waynoka. * WHEN...Until late tonight. * IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Bankfull conditions exist along the river... and some overflows may occur over some low-lying areas near the river. The river reach affected extends from near Freedom upstream... to the U.S. Highway 281 crossing south of Little Sahara State Park near Waynoka... to near Orienta in Major County. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1:30 PM CDT Friday the stage was 8.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.0 feet. - Forecast...The Cimarron River is expected to fall below flood stage late this evening and continue falling. - Flood stage is 8.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Freezing rain is a condition where precipitation which has fallen in the form of
water droplets reaches temperatures which are below freezing and freezes upon
coming into contact
with surface objects. The result of this precipitation is a glaze of ice which
can be damaging to plants and man-made structures. A severe onset of freezing
rain which results in a very thick glaze of ice is known as an ice storm.

Hail is a form of precipitation which is recognized by large solid balls or
clumps of ice. Hail is created by thunderstorm clouds with strong updrafts of wind.
As the hailstones remain in the updraft, ice is deposited onto them until their
weight becomes heavy enough for them to fall to the earth's surface.
Hail storms can cause significant damage to crops, aircrafts, and man-made structures,
despite the fact that the duration is usually less than ten minutes.
