DESCRIPTION: FFWBOI The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a * Flash Flood Warning for... Northeastern Boise County in southwestern Idaho... * Until 845 PM MDT. * At 545 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow moving through the Wapiti Burn Scar. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Locations that will experience flash flooding include... mainly rural areas of Northeastern Boise County along Idaho state Highway 21. A landslide has closed Idaho State Highway 21 between Grandjean and the Custer County line.
INSTRUCTION: Move away from recently burned areas. Life-threatening flooding of creeks, roads and normally dry washes is likely. The heavy rains will likely trigger rockslides, mudslides and debris flows in steep terrain, especially in and around these areas.

Altostratus clouds form at mid to high-level altitudes
(between 2 and 7 km) and are created by a warm, stable air mass which causes
water vapor
to condense as it rise through the atmosphere. Usually altostratus clouds are
featureless sheets characterized by a uniform color.
In some cases, wind punching through the cloud formation may give it a waved
appearance, called altostratus undulatus. Altostratus clouds
are commonly seen with other cloud formations accompanying them.
