Winter Storm Watch issued March 12 at 2:42AM MDT until March 15 at 6:00AM MDT by NWS Billings MT
AREAS AFFECTED: Northern Rosebud; Powder River; Southern Rosebud; Sheridan Foothills
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Periods of heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 6 and 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph early this evening before decreasing overnight. * WHERE...In Montana, Northern Rosebud, Powder River, and Southern Rosebud. In Wyoming, Sheridan Foothills. * WHEN...From this evening through late Saturday night. * IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday evening and Friday commutes. Conditions may threaten young livestock.
INSTRUCTION: Persons should consider delaying travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.

Drizzle is precipitation in the form of water droplets which are
smaller than raindrops.
Drizzle is characterized by fine, gently falling droplets and typically does not
impact human habitation in a negative way. The exception to this is freezing drizzle,
a condition where drizzle freezes immediately upon reaching earth's surface.
Freezing drizzle is still less dangerous than freezing rain, but can
potentially result in hazardous road conditions.

Fog is technically a type of stratus cloud, which lies along the
ground and obscures visibility.
It is usually created when humidity in the air condenses into tiny water droplets.
Because of this, some places are more prone to foggy weather, such as regions
close to a body of water.
Fog is similar to mist; both are the appearance of water droplets suspended in
the air, but fog is the term applied to the condition when visibility is less than 1 km.
