Little Wabash River at Carmi. .Recent heavy rainfall is causing the Little Wabash River to rise, with an expected crest at Carmi just below 28 feet on Friday. It will then hold fairly steady through Sunday. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Little Wabash River at Carmi. * WHEN...Until Tuesday morning. * IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, The inundation of county roads begins. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 PM CDT Wednesday the stage was 26.8 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage tonight to 27.8 feet Friday morning, then hold fairly steady through early Sunday afternoon. A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
