DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of west central Texas, including the following counties, Haskell and Throckmorton. * WHEN...From 3 PM CDT this afternoon through Wednesday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Low-water crossings may be flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Widespread showers and scattered thunderstorms are expect over the watch area this afternoon through Wednesday morning. Excessive rainfall produced from these storms may cause flooding of creeks, streams, rivers, and other flood-prone locations. A nimbostratus cloud is similar to a stratus cloud in its formless,
smooth appearance. However, a nimbostratus cloud is darker than a stratus cloud,
because it is thicker.
Unlike a stratus cloud, a nimbostratus cloud typically brings with it the threat
of moderate to heavy precipitation. In some cases, the precipitation may evaporate
before reaching the ground, a phenomenon known as virga.

Precipitation in the form of water droplets is called rain.
