DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western New York, including the following counties, Allegany, Livingston and Wyoming. * WHEN...Until 630 AM EDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding including roads near Canaseraga Creek in northeast Allegany county. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1225 AM EDT, local law enforcement reported flooding from heavy rain in the warned area. Between 0.75 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Letchworth State Park, Perry, Warsaw, Mount Morris, Portageville, Nunda, Covington, Castile, Ossian, Silver Springs, Canaseraga, Leicester, Wyoming, Gainesville, Silver Lake, Hunt, Dalton, Perry Center, Sonyea and Swain. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or creeks.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
