DESCRIPTION: ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Wisconsin... Wisconsin River At Portage affecting Columbia County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring. * WHERE...Wisconsin River at Portage. * WHEN...Until late this afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, In the Blackhawk Park area in the Town of Caledonia, Old River Road is closed with water over it. West Lane Road in the Long Lake area is closed with about 4 feet of water over it in places. County Highway V and Oak Knoll Road in the Town of Dekorra have water up to the edge of the pavement. A few homes in the Town of Dekorra area near the river have water in the first floor and there is also flooding of outbuildings and yards. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 PM CDT Friday, April 25 the stage was 17.7 feet. - Bankfull stage is 12.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage by late this afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 17.7 feet on 03/28/2019. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

A fractus cloud (scud) is a fragmented, tattered cloud which has
likely been sheared off of another cloud. They are accessory clouds, meaning they
develop from parent clouds, and are named in a way which describes the original
cloud which contained them.
Fractus clouds which have originated from cumulus clouds are referred to as
cumulus fractus, while fractus clouds which have originated from stratus clouds
are referred to as stratus fractus. Under certain conditions a fractus cloud might
merge with another cloud, or develop into a cumulus cloud, but usually a
fractus cloud seen by itself will dissipate rapidly.
They are often observed on the leading and trailing edges of storm clouds,
and are a display of wind activity.

Graupel is a form of precipitation that is created by atmospheric conditions
which cause supercooled water droplets to contact snow crystals and freeze to
their surface.
Sometimes known as soft hail or snow pellets, graupel is delicate and easily
destroyed by touch. Whereas hail usually falls during severe weather, graupel
doesn't require such conditions to form, and can form in mild precipitation
similar to situations which produce snowfall.
