AREAS AFFECTED: Montgomery, PA
DESCRIPTION: * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Pennsylvania, including the following county, Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 100 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 852 PM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen upstream in the Perkiomen Creek headwaters. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - For Perkiomen Creek at East Greenville: At 8:30pm the stage was 4.56 feet. Flood Stage is 5 feet. ... For West Branch Perkiomen Creek at Hillegass: At 3:45pm the stage was 0.58 feet. Flood Stage is 5 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
INSTRUCTION: Turn around...don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

Cirrocumulus clouds form at high altitudes (usually around 5 km)
and have distinguishing characteristics displayed in a fine layer of
small cloud patches. These small cloud patches are sometimes referred to as
"cloudlets" in relation to the whole cloud formation.
Cirrocumulus clouds are formed from ice crystals and water droplets. Often, the
water droplets in the cloud freeze into ice crystals and the cloud becomes a
cirrostratus cloud. Because of this common occurrence, cirrocumulus cloud
formations generally pass rapidly.
